Named after the late Anna I. Morgan, the Morgan Fund is intended for the benefit of the students at Douglass who have taken one or more courses in the Department of Religion and who intend pursuing careers in any field of religion. Several renewable scholarships will be given annually to religion majors and minors who achieve a cumulative average of at least 3.5 and students in the sophomore, junior and senior classes who have a cumulative average of at least 3.5 and excel in one or more religion courses. Comparative financial need will be a criterion in determining the amount of particular awards.

In addition to these scholarships, several prizes will be granted each year to the best research papers completed as part of an upper level course in religion and to a graduating senior who qualifies according to the Guidelines of the Morgan Fund. Grants are also available to defray the costs of applying to graduate or professional schools related to careers in religion, attending professional meetings in religion or related fields, and buying books and materials necessary to specific projects undertaken in connection with courses in religion.
