This course treats in roughly chronological order major schools which offer an alternative vision of Islam such as: Sufis, Twelver Shi’is, Ismailis, Alawites, Alevis, Wahhabis, Salfis, the Ahmadiyya, the Nation of Islam, and Progressive Muslims.
